From the Runway: Balenciaga Resort 2009
Dear god, when is Spring going to begin. Not particularly being a Resort girl, I was pleasantly surprised by a lot of the collections (here, here, here, here, here, here, and here), but it’s really time to move on to bigger and better things. I need something new to drool over that’s not all about being a rich lady of leisure in St. Tropez.
This was sort of Balenciaga’s signature look for the collection. I can’t deal with the pants.

Definitely one of my more favorite pieces. I love the polka dots, body hugging overlapping layers, and demure neckline (the latter two features remind me of By Francine’s Pleat Tucks Dress):

Sometimes I think couture pieces are created just to f*&^ with you. Witness the hot mess below:

I think this suit’s material is gorgeous, but I can’t really hang with the jacket…I would like the puff sleeves if the neckline weren’t so frumpy and the silhouette weren’t so boxy.

This is handy if you’re in the kitchen sans apron, and need to wipe off your hands:

Odd combination of a corset-like top and semi-flowy pleated skirt:

I am a sucker for a belted dress, and I like the kimono-like shape of this black piece. I am not sure what is going on with that flesh-colored bit in the bust area:

Simple but elegant:

I do love me some asymmetrical details and simple, bold colors:
